Theatre comes to the grid...

Thanks to Abraham Ferryhill for staging a traditional Finnish Christmas play, "The Star Boys - Tiernapojat," yesterday on Virtually Live. He was joined onstage by Digital Dreambuilder and Kaarle Mukane. All three live in Finland. Thanks also to Abe for streaming Finnish Christmas songs following the play!

This was the first theatrical production on the Openlife grid. Speaking for myself, I really had no idea what to expect but I'm now fascinated by the potential. All the normal logistical problems exist as in live theatre, but the possibilities for scripted prim staging and international collaboration are exciting and have me thinking about including plays among Virtually Live Events in the future.

That said, the staging for Abraham's play - a large purple fractal snowflake - was not traditional but he took it all in good humor and said his would be a modern traditional Finnish play. :) Please click on the thumbnails to view full-sized images. Enjoy!

Traditional Finnish Christmas Play...

Although no events will be scheduled on Virtually Live for the next two weekends, 25 December and 01 January, respectively, Openlife resident Abraham (Abe) Ferryhill (in real life he resides in Finland) will be staging a traditional Finnish Christmas play, "The Star Boys - Tiernapojat" tomorrow, Wednesday, 22 December 2010 at 8:00PMUTC (12:00PM SLT/PST). This four character play will take approximately 20 minutes to perform and will be held on the main stage of Virtually Live's seasonal flip scene. Afterwards, Abe will stream traditional Finnish Christmas songs for an hour.

Please come join us if possible!

Wishing everyone a healthy and happy 2011!

Kind regards,
Surreal

Glowing memories of a truly stunning virtual event...

Thanks to everyone for helping make the 2010 Seasonal Party on Virtually Live a really warm and memorable event.

Cheops, Caro, and Digi deserve special recognition for an outstandingly fast av makeover. Craig had to recreate his avatar for the performance and literally before our eyes the Triage Trio stepped up. As Cheops said: "At 8:28 Craig was a noob. At 8:33 he was singing!"
